Lenders across the country are scrambling, looking for agents like yourself that can fulfill the demand to sell all of their foreclosed homes.

Several months ago, I noticed the Real Estate prices declining rapidly. My listings were getting harder and harder to sell. I went from selling several homes a month to selling none for a few months. I noticed that i had to make a change in order to survive in this business. I then figured out how to do Short Sales and was successful in selling my first two. The loss mitigation departments became so backed up because of the amount of foreclosures rising in mid 2007 that they didn't respond in a timely manner to my offers and because of that, I lost many buyers. I started to wonder how these agents were getting these listings. At one point I saw one of the REO specialists in my area have 121 listings. I called him and started to ask a few questions on how he got the listings but he wouldn't give me any insight into this niche. Since he wouldn't tell me anything, i decided to go on a google venture on how to do BPO's and REO's because i realized that if i didn't educate myself in this niche, i was going to end up getting a J.O.B.

I searched for many weeks on the internet and found very few materials on BPO's (Broker Price Opinions) and REO's. The ones that I did find, I purchased but they weren't really good. So many of them are just trying to take your money without really educating you. I continued to search and posted a blog on several websites. Finally i received a response from an agent in Sacramento telling me how she stayed in the business by just doing BPO's and how they were paying all her bills and that she continued to do what she loved to. She gave me the name of a home study course on BPO's and REO's. She said the course came with two manuals, one for BPOs, the other about how to build a REO listing business. This course helped her get more BPO's she can handle because she had only signed up with a few financial institutions prior to purchasing this course. She said that this course came with a list of 112 Financial Institutions to sign up with. She did everything the course said and she now has 43 REO listings active and 15 pending this month.
